A policeman was stabbed in his abdomen by a female Arab terrorist at about 2:13 PM Israel time. The border policeman, who was outside National Police Headquarters, managed to draw his weapon and fire at the terrorist, wounding her seriously. He was transported to the hospital in light-to-moderate condition.

A Jerusalem police spokesman adds “A border policeman saw a terrorists who he suspects on Derech Chaim Bar-Lev, calling her to stop.

She continue and when she noticed he was approaching, she turned around and attacked him with a knife. The policeman responded professionally and managed to neutralize her”.

The terrorist remains in serious condition. B’chasdei Hashem the border policeman’s wounds do not appear life-threatening.

EARLIER REPORTS

14:17: Emergency agencies are responding to the Ammunition Hill area of the capital, to a reported terrorist shooting attack. More to follow.

14:22: A woman was stabbed by a terrorist. The victim appears to be an Arab woman who the attacker may have mistaken for a Jew.

14:23: The location is near National Police Headquarters. There are conflicting reports as is the norm shortly after an attack. At present it appears an Arab woman was seriously wounded in the attack and a policeman sustained light injuries. The terrorist was neutralized.

14:26: Ichud Hatzalah reports treatment is being given to one person who was wounded in the upper body on Derech Bar Lev near Ammunition Hill.

14:27: Channel 10 senior defense correspondent Alon Ben-David reports there are two terrorists, a male and a female. The woman was killed and the male injured. There are two wounded in the attack, one serious and one light.

14:31: A policeman was stabbed in his abdomen by a female terrorist. He managed to draw his weapon and fire at her, wounding her very seriously.

Channel 2 reports it appears the female terrorist appears to be a resident of the eastern capital.

MDA reports a male with light stab wound to his upper body is being transported to Hadassah Mt. Scopus Hospital.

14:35: Moshe Teitlebaum, a senior Ichud Hatzalah official reports “When I arrived on the scene I saw Ichud volunteers from the ambucycle units treating a member of the security forces who was stabbed in his upper body as he stood at the entrance to National Police Headquarters. Gunfire was heard and we were compelled to back off until the situation was secured. The wounded was transported to the hospital with a stab wound and conscious. There is no doubt it is a miracle the incident did not end more seriously”.

Channel 2 senior correspondent Moshe Nussbaum confirms there is one victim, a border policeman and due to his quick and professional response he prevented injury to others. The female terrorist remains in grave condition from the border policeman’s gunfire.
